Pineapple on a Stick
20100829:
We had a capoeira fundraiser and people were asked to bring items to sell. I was originally planning to make brownies, but someone else decided to make brownies.

Consequently, I was passed on the idea to make pineapple on a stick!
I actually would have made pineapple s'mores, but I wouldn't have been able to keep them warm. Note that while I thought pineapple s'mores was a unique and crazy idea, apparently it's been tried before.

In any case, I went ahead and made pineapple on a stick.
Steps I Took:
Cut off the top and bottom of the pineapple.
Cut the pineapple in half horizontally and in eight slices vertically.*

Cut off the skin, cut off the core, and cut off any remaining blemishes.**
As instructed, soaked them in salt water for at least half an hour; the instructions called for twenty minutes***
I was next instructed to soak them in water. I did.

Finally, I broke eight sticks in half by scoring them in the center with scissors (I watched this process done yesterday with the frozen chocolate-covered bananas)
*I should have cut the skin off at this step

**I didn't know at the time if they had an official name, but (as of 20161018) I believe I was referring to their eyes.
***The pineapples need to be soaked to get rid of the numbing taste. I realized this numbing taste when I ate the cores which I cut off the pineapple pieces.
